Congratulations to the New Bremen Cardinals boys basketball team on their OHSAA Division IV Wapakoneta District championship, they will move on to the OHSAA Division IV Van Wert Region 14 regional and will play Antwerp on March 9th at 8:00 PM.

MAC All-Time Scoring Leaders Update – 3/5/21

The high school basketball career of one of the best girls basketball players in the Midwest Athletic Conference history came to an end last night, in the OHSAA Region 16 semifinal, at Vandalia-Butler High School. Ivy Wolf, from Minster High School, ended her high school basketball career with 20 points in her final game and 1,685 total points for her career, which made her the all-time leading scorer in girls basketball at Minster High School, passing Lauren Shenk (1,671) and put her in 3rd place on the Midwest Athletic Conference girls basketball all-time scoring list, passing Lauren Shenk and Justine Raterman (1,673), from Versailles High School.

Ivy will be attending Miami University and will play for the RedHawks women’s basketball team. Congratulations on a tremendous career at Minster High School and best wishes at Miami University!

Congratulations to Minster’s Ivy Wolf on becoming the all-time leading scorer in girls basketball at Minster High School with 1685 total points, passing Lauren Shenk (1671) and passing Justine Raterman (1673), Versailles, and finishing her career in the number 3 spot on the Midwest Athletic Conference all-time scoring list in girls basketball.

2021 OHSAA Division II Boys State Bowling Championship

Coach Tyler Phlipot and the Versailles Tigers boys bowling team finished in 3rd place in the 2021 OHSAA Division II Boys State Championship, losing in the state semifinal match to Mechanicsburg (eventual state champion) 3-1 (166-181, 197-141, 157-203, 179-223).

Coach Rick Hartings and the Coldwater Cavaliers boys bowling team finished in 4th place in the 2021 OHSAA Division II Boys State Championship, losing in the state semifinal match to Fairport Harbor (eventual state runner-up) 3-2 (203-236, 233-181, 199-194, 234-255, 180-192).

Congratulations to both teams on a tremendous season!

Coldwater Girls Bowling – 2021 OHSAA Division II State Champions

Congratulations to Coach Hartings and the Coldwater High School Cavaliers girls bowling team on their 2021 OHSAA Division II State Championship! In the final match the Cavaliers girls bowling team defeated Greenon High School, in a sweep, 3-0 (180-180 (36-18), 192-146 & 202-145) to win their 5th girls bowling state championship.

The team state championship is number 140 for the Midwest Athletic Conference member schools, it is girls team state championship number 72 and girls bowling team state championship number 5 (all won by Coldwater).

MAC All-Time Scoring Leaders Update – 2/26/21

The high school basketball careers of three very good players in the Midwest Athletic Conference came to an end over the previous week.

In girls basketball, Paige Gaynier ended her high school basketball career with 1,376 total points, which made her the all-time leading scorer in girls basketball at St. John’s High School and put her in 13th place on the Midwest Athletic Conference girls basketball all-time scoring list.

In girls basketball, Heidi Rethman ended her high school basketball career with 1,014 total points, which put her in 8th place on the girls basketball all-time scoring list at Marion Local High School and 46th place on the Midwest Athletic Conference girls basketball all-time scoring list.

In boys basketball, Dylan Hughes, from Parkway High School, ended his high school basketball career with 1,215 total points, which put him in 20th place on the Midwest Athletic Conference boys basketball all-time scoring list.

Congratulations to these three Midwest Athletic Conference student-athletes on their accomplishments and best wishes in the future!
